Lola Cavines

Dolores “Lola” Saldaña-Caviness was born in El Paso, Texas, to Esteban and Anita Saldaña, who were part of the founding group that helped build the first Saint Martin de Porres church building between 1964 and 1965. From an early age, she grew up in an environment deeply rooted in faith and community commitment.

Lola received all her sacraments at Saint Martin de Porres Parish, where she has been a lifelong parishioner. Her parents instilled in their six children the importance of living the Catholic faith fully: not only by attending Sunday Mass, but also by actively participating in the life of the Church and serving the community.

Over the years, Lola has been continuously involved as a volunteer, collaborating on various parish committees and working alongside different priests. Her service has been steadfast, humble, and deeply committed.

In 2014, she joined the parish staff under the guidance of Father Eleazar Pérez, and she has continued to serve with dedication and affection ever since.

For Lola, Saint Martin de Porres has always been and will continue to be her “home”: the place where she grew up, where she has served, and where she has built a life of faith, community, and dedication.
