Director of Catechesis

Soledad Favela

She was born in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, in 1953.

From a young age, she has lived her faith with deep commitment and a spirit of service. In 1989, alongside her husband, Deacon Jesús Favela, she served and collaborated in the founding of Christ the Redeemer Mission in Gruver, Texas—a community born from their joint pastoral work and dedication.

Her spiritual formation was strengthened at The Falco Retreat Center in Amarillo, Texas, where she prepared alongside Deacon Favela to continue their mission of service.

She is married to Deacon Jesús Favela, is the mother of Jessica Favela, and grandmother to Sebastián and Giovanni Melano Favela, who are an essential part of her life and family witness.

Currently, Soledad serves the community as Director of Religious Education and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion—roles she carries out with dedication, warmth, and a deep love for the Church.
